Pewaukee High School – From Bollywood dancers to jugglers to trumpeters and vocalists, a quick glance at this event line-up and it's easy to see, Pewaukee's got talent.

Pewaukee High School's Friends of Fine Arts (FOFA) is sponsoring the event "Pewaukee's Got Talent" to showcase the talents of community members, teachers and students at 6 p.m. April 4 in the Pewaukee High School auditorium.

"We're trying to let people see the talent we have in Pewaukee," said Lisa Sweeney, FOFA treasurer and event chairwoman.

Other talents include hip-hop and swing dancers, pianists, flautists and band performances.

Not only for entertainment, the event is also a fundraiser to help purchase basic needs for the PHS music and drama programs as well as provide scholarships to graduating seniors.

The goal is to raise $15,000 to purchase band instruments, set and costume supplies for the drama program, and necessary items like music and performance folders for the choir program, in addition to scholarships for students pursuing arts in college.

Craig Koplien, WTMJ meteorologist and PHS drama and choir graduate, will host "Pewaukee's Got Talent."

In addition, the event will feature a silent auction with theater, ballet, symphony and sports tickets, backstage passes, autographed sports memorabilia and resort getaways. Attendees can bid on a traveling sundae factory from The Chocolate Factory, fajita party for 10 from Moe's Southwest Grill, and dance lessons from To The Pointe. One of the featured items is the Greg Jennings celebrity golf outing, which includes a pre-golf party on Pewaukee Lake with Green Bay Packers and a golf outing for four including one of the celebrities.

Those in attendance will also have the opportunity to stop in the cafeteria to browse the artwork of Pewaukee students and local artists, many from the Pewaukee Area Arts Council, between performances.

FOFA, an organization created to promote and bring awareness to the fine arts programs at PHS, has provided scholarships and funded projects such as lighting for the auditorium, band instruments and support for the band and choir to perform in New Orleans.

Tickets are available at the door before the show and are $20 for adults and $15 for children and students. Sweeney advises attendees to arrive early. The show starts at 6 p.m., and doors will open at about 5:30 p.m., she said. For more information, visit www.pewaukee.k12.wi.us.
